Without goals, it’s nigh impossible to make changes. New Year Resolutions bank on a fresh start and approach to achieve new results. But too often, when a resolution is broken, like putting a pin to a balloon, it just explodes into nothingness. Similarly, often a survey is one-and-done. The pressure to extract meaningful insights often leads to horrible scope-creep. The nice thing about research communities is that you continuously get new results and insights. With each iteration, each activity, you are able to build off previous insights to extract new, meaningful insights. After several weeks or months, you have built something of so much greater scope than a one-and-done survey because the scope is market-driven and built piece-by-piece at a manageable and thus more engaged and accurate level. This year, consider taking a new path to more meaningful and useful insights.
